Dear Friends:

My name is Alfred Sexton, Commander of Administration for the Gulfport Police Department, Gulfport, Mississippi. On behalf of citizens that were hit by this storm, we thank you for all the help that you have already given to our area.

I however would like to take a few minutes to share with you the stories of the men and women of the Gulfport Police Department and Gulfport Fire Department who have been working prior to, during, and since the storm, providing service to the citizens that they are to protect. Most all of the emergency services officers have not yet had time to start repairs on their own homes and have had to relocate their families across the southeastern United States.

It is getting better every day; however, it still seems to be so far from a normal life.
